My son loves the Kovar’s Martial Arts studio. He recently switched the studio to this location and he enjoys going for the camps as well. Only complain, the equipments are little pricey. Besides that, it’s a great studio for kids.

I LOVE this place! I turned 71 in 2024 - yes, 71 years old - and enrolled in MMA classes. It was that or tap dancing. I was into martial arts 50 years ago and thought I'd continue the adventure. The instructor Jeramy is patient, clear, relaxed, articulate and kind. Amanda is a joy, too, and runs the dojo. I've been going twice a week for three months and just earned my Gold Belt. I've never felt judged, though being in my 70s, overweight and out of shape, could be an opportunity for ridicule. Not here. Everyone is supportive. I've gone early and watched Jeramy teach the kids, too. I am in awe of his skill in adapting his teaching to the students before him. Great school. Great instructors. See you there.

We have two, possibly a 3rd, son attending Kovars. We love the staff’s friendliness, really creates a warm vibe and welcoming atmosphere. Shout out to Sensei Alex for being kind, yet firm to ensure the kids are becoming the best versions of themselves. There are many martial arts academy, but Kovars (specifically Fair Oaks location) is a gem!

We absolutely LOVE Kovar’s in Rocklin! The senseis are hands-down the best part of this place. They’re so kind, they know every kid by name, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. It’s such a warm, welcoming environment that makes every child feel special. Our 5-year-old has been going for a few months now and is completely hooked. He’s grown so much—not just physically but in confidence too. He looks forward to every class and comes out beaming every time. What I really love is that Kovar’s isn’t just about learning martial arts. They spend time helping kids with goal-setting and character building too. It’s been such a positive influence on our little one, and honestly, I can’t think of a better place for kids to train.

What are the benefits of practicing martial arts?

Practicing martial arts offers numerous benefits, including self-defense and improved physical fitness, strength and agility, as well as increased mental focus and discipline. How often are classes held?

We offer a variety of classes Monday-Saturday.  Our hours are:

Monday - Friday: 3-9 PM

Saturday: 9 AM-12 PM

What qualifications and experience do your instructors have?

Our instructors boast a wide range of qualifications and experience in various martial arts styles, such as Mixed Martial Arts, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kenpo, Eskrima, and Krav Maga. All of our instructors have been carefully trained and certified to ensure that our students receive the highest quality instruction.

Are there self-defense components included in the curriculum?

Self-defense is an integral part of our curriculum. We teach a hybrid of multiple styles of martial arts to provide students with the opportunity to apply self-defense skills against a resisting opponent through live training. Our classes cover five ranges of combat: Weapons, Kicking, Punching, Clinching, and Grappling so that you can be prepared for any situation. Self-defense training is a key benefit to training in the martial arts and you'll get plenty of practice with it in class!

How many classes can you attend per week?

Recommended attendance is 2-3 times per week, however, our programs come with unlimited classes. So you can attend as much or as little as your schedule allows!
